I'm Fairly Certain, If I Knew Then What I Know Now: Repainting My Kitchen Cabinets

I've taken the past three days off for this. That's Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I've given myself 5 whole days to repaint my kitchen cabinets. I've aggravated my Carpal Tunnel so bad in my right hand that I *have* to wear my little brace a night or I'll wake up in pain like I've never experienced. I've popped a few Advils and am having a glass of wine as we speak.

Let's revisit my kitchen.

Here she is in all of her cluttered and messy glory. We're not here to judge are we y'all? No, because I bet your kitchen isn't as tidy as you'd probably like it to be either. I'm just keepin' it real. Where's my maid service?

The thing that is so bizarre about my kitchen is the crappy-cheapo oak cabinets and then the black granite counter tops. I mean, that sort of cancels each other out right?

This was the state of my kitchen at 9:30am on Wednesday morning. I can say that as of today (Friday night) I've successfully, sanded, primed, caulked and two coated the majority of the cabinets and their doors. All 35 of them.

If I knew then what I know now...I may have thought twice. ;) Stay tuned for the next chapter of of kitchen cabinet drama.

We just repainted ours too. But I don't have nearly as many as you, AND, I have tacky mint green countertops.

Can't wait to see the results!

Oh, and I feel ya on the Carpal tunnel..I have to wear my little brace to bed too every now and then.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing in my kitchen for the past year, but now that I hear your harrowing tales I'm seriously thinking I love them the way they are :-)

You are a brave girl!!!! Your kitchen has great bones, though, and I bet the end result is going to be awesome - I can't wait to see it!!! P.S. Go have a few more glasses of wine. :)

I love that there's a 'patience' sign in the pantry (?). Because that is one thing I would not have to take on a project like that!

You're my hero!

Just stumbled on your blog via Bloggapedia. I'm in Dallas too. But it looks like you're doing a great job painting the cabinets.
