Here's a stock tip--Do not put money in the antibacterial part of soap!

Two posts in one day! Can ya believe it?

Ever since I stopped my horribly bad habit, not only is my sense of smell incredible, but I'm super conscientious about germs. I'm getting to the point where I'm carrying hand sanitizer in my purse. Which might be a common practice for most, but unusual for me.

Anyway, I wanted to pass along this post from Sherry at Young House Love. It's about antibacterial soap and how it's all a sham!

Needless to say, I am so disappointed and am now second guessing the "Antibacterial wash" on my dishwasher.

I have never bought into the whole antibacterial thing. If anything I have heard they are harmfull! They morph normal germs into power germs. I think the antibacterial wash setting on the dishwasher is a good thing though.. it uses extra hot water to kill the germs :D

i quit smoking too, but it's not been quite as long as you. i haven't noticed my sense of smell being better yet, but my sense of taste has improved to the point where i can hardly stand french fries anymore for all the salt!

and btw, the antibacterial wash thing on your dishwasher just means there's an onboard water heater that heats the water past 140°. it's like the sanitary cycle on my washing machine. it's not like triclosan in soap. :)

again, congrats on quitting smoking!

See..I am a huge consumer whore. Yes, I said it. I can sit there and completely be convinced of a product in the 20 sec commercial. I've curbed it a lot tho. So if it says to kills germs then I should probably get that. I know I'm not in the minority on this one.

Ohhh salt and fries!!!! Hook a sister up! And keep up the good work jOolz! Everyday seems to get easier and easier.
