I see these all the time at thrift shops for cheap. They come in big domes or little tiny ones that almost look a like a bell without the center hangy thing.
I use mine as mini terrariums.
For some extra height, I used a $.99 ceramic white candle stick and set the plate and dome on top.
Hope everyone had a enjoyable weekend!
P.S.- I just discovered these things are called "cloches" or cheese domes :P
Oh my gosh! What a fabulous idea! My mom had some very fancy terrariams when I was younger and I've never been able to find any that I like. I love it!
Oh sweetie, great minds think alike. Please stop by and see what I mean. I so love your display. It is just beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Country hugs, Sherry
I love your collection. And I love how you raised a few up on candlesticks. And using the smaller ones as terrariums reminds me of the 70's. But I like your version better.
Oh I love them all. YOu have such pretty shapes and sizes, what wonderful displays. Thanks so much for joining the party, I really appreciate it. This is such fun. I really love your creativity. Hugs, Marty
These are beautiful. I love the idea. The plants survive covered up? As you can tell from the question I'm not a big plant person...but I do love them.
Your cloches are fabulous, Krisitna, and yes, they look like cheese domes. As a blogger explained, the word 'cloche' is French for bell. Back in the day they were used to cover plants outside. So...you certainly have the right idea!!
Love your cloches. One of mine has a similar base. Love to use one as a terrerium, I have a palm plant dying...do they make cloches 7 feet tall? lol!!

So cute! I've been loving all the terrariums I've seen lately, and I especially adore your take on them! I need to get cracking and make my own! :)

I see the cheese domes all the time too at flea markets but haven't bought them. Maybe it's time to start. Happy Friday. ~ Lynn
