New Project: Craft Room

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
I spent a lot of my free time this weekend "making pretties." I ordered "The Big-Ass Book of Crafts" last week and decided to try my hand at a few projects. I'll post more about those later bt first, I wanted to show you where I sat for 7 hours on Saturday:

This is my project table. Horrible isn't it? AND this is IN my kitchen. Which makes it 200% more horrible. The chair hurts my back and the table top is made out of mosaic tiles that scratch my arms and I constantly hit my knees on that decorative bar thing there on the front.

So, my husband being the gem that he is, suggested I use Kenya's room as my new craft room. My poor 10 year old kitty has her own room away from the dogs. This room was originally a game room upstairs, but somehow, the previous owners did a bunk job trying to close it off. Now it's a weird room with no closet and too small for a bedroom. Hence, Kenya's room.

I'm poking around looking at some different craft rooms and wanted to share a few of my favorites.

First of all have you seen the cover of House Beautiful this month? Everything about this picture screams my name. I think they made this cover with me in mind.

With some of these colors in mind, here are a few craft rooms that I adore:

The last one is one of my favorites. I've emailed the blogger asking for the name of that paint color.
I've been scanning Craig's List looking for some desks. I want more of a table than desk. With all of the little projects I do, I think a desk wouldn't be big enough.

Do you have a craft room? What sort of projects do you work on and what do you do to customize it?

That paint color IS amazing! Let me know if you hear back from her! I'd love to use that myself somewhere....

Hi Christina,

thank you - so glad you like my office paint color.
It is called 'Mercer' by Ralph Lauren. It is a matte paint...very pretty. : )

Hope this helps!

That magazine cover would scream "Kristina" more if it had a bird on it. :) I love your idea for your craft room!!!

Good luck! I've been wanting to redo my studio/craft room as well. Funny thing is I wanted to paint it a shade of gray too. I guess it's a great neutral background for all the colors and craziness we may have going on. Glad the kitty can spare a little room for your crafts.

Also, my computer is under the weather right now after a storm the other night, so that's why I haven't posted anything lately. Cross your fingers that she's not dead! :(

My house seems to be the craft room! These all look way too organized!
