Let's Take a Tour: Master Bedroom Redo!

Remember this room? The drab builder white, horrible mismatched bedspread, awful Ikea furniture?

Let's revisit:

Horrible isn't it? So bad you want to do a bee-line-u-turn right out of the room.

As you might recall, my inspiration was from Katie's bedroom redo at Bower Power with a sprinkle from Sherry and John's bedroom at This Young House. I want cozy, clean and simple. I wanted the wall the ceiling drapery and frankly, I just wanted to love the room. Who doesn't right?

Badda-Bing!

I think I did it! *claps*

Sorry about the window glare. I hate this camera and was trying to get the perfect shot. Unfortunately, our bedroom lay out doesn't really accommodate; you just can't seem to get a all inclusive shot....anywhere.

The inspiration for the framed "cluster" was by Blayne's living room redo over at House Anonymous. She did such a fantastic job and I completely fell in love with her "cluster." So I wanted to recreate it. Here is my version.

I was lucky enough to get my lithograph bird {the one my Mother thought looked dead, 'member?} from Etsy for a steal and a few pictures from Hobby Lobby. The canvas, trees in the two smaller frames and the green print was made by yours truely!

So there you have it. Oh! Did you notice the color change on the furniture?! Yeah, that only took me 2 3-day weekends to do!! Lucky for you, I've documented it ALL and plan on posting a furniture redo with all of the mistakes left out ;)

I love our room now. I have some little things I need to work on but over all I think I nailed it. With the curtains from ceiling to floor and the comfy bed, I love being in my bedroom now. *high-fives herself*

What do you think?

I was going to say I loved your cluster above the dresser before I read about it. Good job! Wish I could see it in person because I know pics never show the true colors or feelings. Love it!

I just found your blog and I gotta say - LOVE your room. And I even like the "dead bird" print. :)

Gorgeous! I am super flattered that my living room helped inspire your "cluster." It looks great and its so cool that you painted that canvas yourself. Great job!

I followed you here from Bower Power, and your transformation looks great!! I'm with Averill, I LOVE your "cluster" - and I'm so impressed that most of it is your own artwork! Great job. :)

That's beautiful! I can't wait to hear how you re-did the Malm furniture, seeing as that I have some Malm of my own I'd like to transform :)
